Saturday, October 13, 2012 marked our 5 year anniversary.
While some say "WOW, 5 years already?!" I say....only 5?? (haha). With everything that we have been through and experienced in those five years it's really hard to believe that is has only been 5 years.
WE.....
* bought a house in Bellefonte
* adopted our first pet together Chloe
* lived for six months apart: me in Bellefonte, Doug in California for an internship
* bought our second pet Tucker
* made improvements on the house
* bought my first ever brand new, drive it off the lot car
* lived for 10 months apart in different states: me in Bellefonte, PA; Doug in Troy, NY
* sold our home in Bellefonte, packed to move to Troy
* sold my brand new car :(
* said goodbye to family and friends and instead decided to move across the ocean to Holland
* got pregnant
* learned to deal with an entirely new health care system
* tried to adapt to living in a foreign country (not sure we ever fully did)
* traveled to Germany on several different occasions
* traveled throughout Holland
* survived the world's longest pregnancy
* welcomed our little Pumpkin Ella into our lives
* survived as first time parents in a strange country while Ella battled with eczema and hip dysplasia
* traveled to London
* traveled to Copenhagen and Legoland
* traveled to Rome
* Doug finished his Master's Degree
* made amazing international friends
* survived long flights back and forth (sometimes all alone with a baby) to see family and friends
* learned to use a bicycle as a main means of transportation
* learned a bit of dutch
* packed and shipped all our belongings 3,635 miles across the ocean
* found a new apartment
* UNPACKED yet again
And finally, we are still trying to settle into life back in the USA!!
Happy 5th Anniversary and here's to many more!! Stay tuned for our anniversary outing. Although it wasn't a romantic outing for two, our family trip to the Pumpkin Farm was the perfect way to celebrate!

About Us
- The Wilcox Family
- The title for our blog came from the saying "thinking outside the box", which means to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. "Enjoy your choices and enjoy what you do. Never let a day go by without being thankful for the fact that you get to be here in the first place." Hopefully this blog will help family and friends to stay a little closer to us even though were thousands of miles apart; as well as to share in our trials, daily life adventures and traveling experiences.
