About Us

The title for our blog came from the saying "thinking outside the box", which means to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. "Enjoy your choices and enjoy what you do. Never let a day go by without being thankful for the fact that you get to be here in the first place." Hopefully this blog will help family and friends to stay a little closer to us even though were thousands of miles apart; as well as to share in our trials, daily life adventures and traveling experiences.

Super Spectacular Street Signs

We had our mommy and me meeting at a different home than ours this week, so Ella and I headed out to meet at Jedidja and her son Noah's home. The area where they live has really cool street signs! The actual streets surrounding their house are named after famous authors. And other streets even farther from their home are named after dutch authors (none of whom I recognized). Their street is the first one. In America you often see "street", "lane" or "avenue" on a sign. Here, the roads are labeled with either "straat" meaning street, "pad" which translates to path or way  or "hof" meaning court. Each sign had the name of the author and the length of time they were alive. Underneath the name written in Dutch is whether the person was an "Engels"- English, "Brits"- British or "Amerikaans"- American "schrijfster"-author. And if you are asking yourself (mostly the American's who read our blog) what the difference between English and British is......it has to do with where the person was born and lived. You can be English if you are born in England. British refers to living in one of the countries forming Great Britain (England, Scotland or Wales).

Do you know these authors?
