About Us

My photo
The title for our blog came from the saying "thinking outside the box", which means to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. "Enjoy your choices and enjoy what you do. Never let a day go by without being thankful for the fact that you get to be here in the first place." Hopefully this blog will help family and friends to stay a little closer to us even though were thousands of miles apart; as well as to share in our trials, daily life adventures and traveling experiences.

Homemade Fun

I have been making more homemade toys for Ella. I receive a weekly email from babycenter.com with lots of everyday activities you can do with a toddler. I found one called Sew Your Ribbon (found here for you mom's who are interested http://www.babycenter.com/0_lets-play-sew-your-ribbons_10309524.bc).
I poked some holes in a piece of cardboard and then put ribbons of different lengths through them. I was sure to knot each end of the string a few times.
Ella enjoys pulling the ribbons on here own and while someone holds the cardboard.

I also decided to try it with a really long piece of yarn and a cup. Ella giggles when she runs with the string away from one of us and ends up going all the way around the corner before she feels a tug and knows she can't go any further. The best part is when the string has been pulled all the way through the cup, all you have to do is turn the cup around and the fun starts ALL over again! Let more giggles begin.
