The title for our blog came from the saying "thinking outside the box", which means to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. "Enjoy your choices and enjoy what you do. Never let a day go by without being thankful for the fact that you get to be here in the first place." Hopefully this blog will help family and friends to stay a little closer to us even though were thousands of miles apart; as well as to share in our trials, daily life adventures and traveling experiences.

Happy Halloween

Our favorite holiday...HALLOWEEN! Last year Ella was only a few weeks old for Halloween and since they do not celebrate it here in Holland we made the best of it by just carving some pumpkins......which you might remember!



But this year since we were in the U.S we took full advantage of being able to dress up. With Doug having to travel to California for work on Halloween we dressed up the day before. We only went to see a total of 5 people (grandparents and great-grandparents) but it was still fun. We didn't have a lot of time to plan costumes either so we bought a cheap, but cute outfit for Ella and put our creative, craft side to work for Doug and myself.
