Ella had an unexpected but fabulous playdate today. Our Australian friend and neighbor had to go for her driving lessons today.....something I haven't done to get a dutch driver's license, even though I should. I just keep driving on my American one! I couldn't believe it when she told me how much it costs just to take the driver's test for the dutch license.....200 euro!!! And if you don't pass the test, ohh well, pay it again to try again! YIKES!
Anyway, she needed someone to watch her son Jonte (short for Johnathon, who is two weeks younger than Ella) while she went for her final lesson. I was happy to lend a hand and thought it was great for Ella to have someone more her age, and size to pal around with. As much as her and I love each other, I think we do get rather sick and tired of each other day after day.
At first they stuck side by side playing with the wooden puzzle pieces, but after a bit they each found their own interests and played very happily! I have been a little worried how Ella would play with other children since she never does. But she did very well and Jonte is a very sweet, laid back baby. He has two older brothers too, so he's a little more use to having kids around.

- The Wilcox Family
- The title for our blog came from the saying "thinking outside the box", which means to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. "Enjoy your choices and enjoy what you do. Never let a day go by without being thankful for the fact that you get to be here in the first place." Hopefully this blog will help family and friends to stay a little closer to us even though were thousands of miles apart; as well as to share in our trials, daily life adventures and traveling experiences.
