About Us

The title for our blog came from the saying "thinking outside the box", which means to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. "Enjoy your choices and enjoy what you do. Never let a day go by without being thankful for the fact that you get to be here in the first place." Hopefully this blog will help family and friends to stay a little closer to us even though were thousands of miles apart; as well as to share in our trials, daily life adventures and traveling experiences.

Kerstmarkt (Christmas Market) in Elden

Our small town of Elden held a Christmas market this weekend. It's location was about a 5 minute walk from our house. They had small tents with different local vendors selling antiques, Christmas decorations, sausages, jams, chocolates, jewelry and clothes. Due to the -10 degree celsius weather, we only stayed about an hour. They had a live orchestra playing Christmas music and families pulling their children around in small wooden sleds. It was a very nice experience to be a part of in a small town. We bought some yummy chocolate and homemade jams!

A live manger scene (but only with donkeys and sheep).
