Ella has started to try and play hide and seek. She asks to play and she's pretty good at hiding, but if Doug or I go to hide she doesn't quite understand the seek part unless one of us is helping her. It's the giggle I hear from her when we play hide and seek that reminds me how great it is to be a mom. If it's at all possible I fall more and more in love with her everyday. Here's an idea of how a hide and seek game goes with Ella:
Ella: "hide seek mommy"
Me: "go hide Ella"
The pitter-patter sound of her feet take off down the hall into one of the three rooms she can hide in.
Me: slowly finished counting to ten "Ready or not Ella, here I come" slowly begin to walk down the very short hallway of our apartment "Is Ella hiding in the bathtub? pause "No, not there". Walking into Ella's room, "Is Ella hiding behind her bedroom door? pause "No, not there." Walking out of Ella's room, "Is Ella in mommy's closet?"
Ella: "NOOOOO" Mommy tries to hide back a laugh while walking into our bedroom to find Ella hiding
And yes....our bed is a futon mattress on the floor right now. We hope to get a bedroom set and new mattress very soon because it's not the most comfortable sleeping conditions. But hey, who can worry about stuff like that when you have this great little hider to play with all day?!

About Us
- The Wilcox Family
- The title for our blog came from the saying "thinking outside the box", which means to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. "Enjoy your choices and enjoy what you do. Never let a day go by without being thankful for the fact that you get to be here in the first place." Hopefully this blog will help family and friends to stay a little closer to us even though were thousands of miles apart; as well as to share in our trials, daily life adventures and traveling experiences.
