About Us

My photo
The title for our blog came from the saying "thinking outside the box", which means to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. "Enjoy your choices and enjoy what you do. Never let a day go by without being thankful for the fact that you get to be here in the first place." Hopefully this blog will help family and friends to stay a little closer to us even though were thousands of miles apart; as well as to share in our trials, daily life adventures and traveling experiences.

This and That

It seems like the Spring weeks have been flying by. We have been out and about and have taken many random photos of different things we have seen. So I guess this blog entry in a little of this and a little of that! It has been beautiful in Holland for the past month. The weather we have been experiencing is not typical for this time of year. It has been unseasonably warm and sunny!! We aren't complaining though. This just means more walks and playing with the dogs outside, flowers in bloom, and some flower planting of our own.

(a view of our neighbors garden)

Ella finally enjoys some outside playtime while mommy and daddy get the "garden" (here your yard is often called a garden) ready with some flowers and patio furniture.

All this nice weather means more and more people out on their bikes. We have been discussing more and more how we really should get ourselves some bikes so we can enjoy weekend bike rides exploring the well developed bike paths here. You can go ANYWHERE on your bike. This is one thing that we really haven't experienced yet, but really need to! Of course you can see lots of different kinds of bikes!

And the bike paths are great for elderly and handicapped travelers!

There is even free bike parking in garages, just like a gated parking garage for cars!

We saw this outside a building on our way to Ikea. Not sure what it's there for.....maybe an advertisement for all American Hot Dogs!

We've learned to take our camera with us wherever we go. You never know when you'll spot another new windmill! (and sometimes the pictures are taken from the car window as we are driving by)

Do you think the "warning label" on this is big enough??

We didn't have any trouble reading what this was! One of the few things we can read easily at the grocery store.

That's the end of this and that for now!
